As part of the Programme the concept of festivities for children “Days of Alexander Nevsky” was developed to be held in the towns related to the life, activity and respect for Saint Blessed Prince.
For the first time the event was held at the native land of Alexander Nevsky — in Pereslavl-Zaleski (2008). In the following years the Days dedicated to Saint Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky were held with active involvement of the Programme “Days of Alexander Nevsky” in Nizhny Novgorod, Gorodets, Arzamas, Sarov (2009), in Pskov (2010). The long-term project of the Programme was approved at the session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2008–2009. Since 2011 the festivities are traditionally held in Pskov, Pereslavl-Zaleski, Gorodets in the Nizhny Novgorod region, in Kostrovo village at the children’s branch of “Moscow regional psycho-neurological hospital #4”.
