Presenting the bell-tower

The Foundation and the Centre handed over bells for the bell-tower for the Church of Nativity of Holy Mother in Monastyrshchina settlement where, according to the legend, the warriors who were killed during the Battle of Kulikovo were buried. The bells were 1950kg, 1024kg, 430 kg and 210 kg.

Being blessed by His Holiness Patriarch Alexis II, each bell has an inscription on it: «This bell has been founded in the city of Moscow in summer 7513 since the creation of the world, and in 2005 since the Birth of Jesus Christ, on August 9 for the Church of Monastyrshchina settlement in honour of 625th anniversary of the Kulikovo Battle thanks to His Holiness Patriarch Alexis of Moscow and All Russia and thanks to the Centre of National Glory of Russia». Today these bells can be heard not only during a service but also twice a day which is a symbolic reminder about the Kulikovo Battle. The bell-ringing heard in the morning reminds about the beginning of the battle and in the afternoon — about its ending.
