Open interregional historical and patriotic contest “Navy wreath of glory: sailors serving the Fatherland”

The open interregional historical and patriotic contest "Navy wreath of glory: sailors serving the Fatherland" is held as part of the programme of the Interregional public fund "Centre of National Glory" titled "The historical memory of generations".

The contest is aimed to preserve in the public and civil memory of our society the main pages of the history of our Fatherland. The goal of the project is to provide examples and heroic pages in the history of the Fatherland and the Russian Navy and with their help to facilitate the formation of the youth’s sense of patriotism and national self-awareness while choosing their own direction for personal development.

The Interregional public fund "Centre of National Glory" and the Major Navy Command are the organizers of the contest. The contest is held with support from Ministry of Education and Science of the RF, Federal Youth Agency of the RF, the Russian State Military Historical and Cultural Centre at the Government of the RF (Rosvoencentre).

In 2015 the contest celebrated its 10th anniversary. In the anniversary year, dedicated to 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1250 contestants from 51 regions of Russia and school children from Estonia took part in the creative competition. Altogether over a thousand of individual and collective creative works were submitted for the jury.
