The results of the project on “The Civil War: Mirrors of the Epoch” have been reviewed
The Foundation of Saint Andrew the First-Called implemented the project on “The Civil War: Mirrors of the Epoch” to commemorate the 100thanniversary of the Civil War. The project provides the opportunity to have an unusual look at the events that took place 100 years ago: to consider the events the way they were perceived by scientists, philosophers and people of art.
The goal of the project is peacekeeping, informational and educational. The project consists of four parts: 1) interactive (on the Internet) 2) on-site (a historical game to be conducted for students from major universities) 3) the Expert Session “From Civil Wars to Civil World” 4) educational events (held at “Znaniye” Russian Society).
As long as the main goal of the project was educational, daily posts appeared on the Foundation’s pages in social media such as VKontakte and Facebook with quotes of writers, poets, philosophers, art figures and scientists that revealed their attitude to the Civil War. Every day within 5 weeks a post with two or three quotes was placed from Monday to Thursday. At the week-end users could watch a video (a chronicle) about one of the key figures of a certain week (about Yesenin, Shalyapin and so on).
