The Prayer for Peace on the Holy Land will be Held in Serbian Churches
A delegation of the Foundation of Saint Andrew the First-Called with Vladimir Yakunin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, in charge, had a meeting with Patriarch of Serbia Irenaeus.
“As you know, last year our Foundation celebrated the 25th anniversary. We are one of the oldest organizations in Russia. Currently we implement the project titled “Pray for Peace for Jerusalem”. The project unites all Orthodox churches. This way we are trying to unite countries for the sake of peace in the entire world. If you support our idea we will appreciate it” – said Vladimir Yakunin.
Patriarch Irenaeus blessed the project. “With great pleasure I give blessing to this wonderful initiative” – said Patriarch. He noted that the Serbian Orthodox Church would like to join the prayers.
Vladimir Yakunin told Patriarch about the “Sanctity of Motherhood” programme which is successfully implemented in Russia to provide support for pregnant women who face the reproductive choice. Throughout 11 years of the programme’s activity 50,000 children’s lives have been saved.
