Blessed by His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, on the eve of Orthodox Easter, the delegation of the Foundation of St. Andrew the First-Called will deliver the Holy Fire from the Church of Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem to Moscow for the Easter Patriarchal Service to be held at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. The delivery of the Holy Fire to the Russian Orthodox Church is implemented as part of the unique programme of the Foundation of St. Andrew the First-Called «Pray for Peace for Jerusalem». The annual peace-making programme has been realized since 2003. The most significant element of the initiative is the prayer about peace in the Holy Land. The delegation of the Foundation of Andrew the First-Called together with Patriarch of Jerusalem pray about peace in the Holy Land.

On Holy Saturday thousands of people will take part in the litany of the Holy Fire at the Church of Resurrection of Christ. Millions of viewers of NTV channel and broadcast listeners of «Radio of Russia» in Russia and near and far-abroad countries will have a chance to observe the unique service in Jerusalem Church of Resurrection of Christ.

The Holy Fire will be delivered to Moscow by a dedicated flight just for the beginning of the Easter Patriarchal Service held at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and will be handed to His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. Traditionally hundreds of believers meet the delegation at Vnukovo airport and then the Holy Fire is delivered to churches of Moscow, Moscow region and other regions of Russia.
